As is the challenge with most other liquid MCT oil products, it’s almost impossible to mix this stuff in without a blender. That said, it truly is unflavored, and won’t throw off the flavor of anything you might put it in. I’ve been adding some to my coffee, and on off days where I either forget or don’t have a coffee right away, I’ll throw some in a smoothie or add a bit to my protein shakes. You can put it in pretty much whatever you want and you’ll get the intended benefit – just don’t try cooking with it, it doesn’t quite work the same way as cooking oil (can’t say I’ve tried, but I know people who have, and heard some stories). One other note as well, if you use a thermos or insulated tumbler cup with a lid, make sure you read the instructions for it because some of them recommend not using MCT oil in the cup because it can mess with the rubber on the lid and you’ll end up with a leaky mug.All in all this stuff is great!

MCT oil is getting very popular for those starting ketogenic diets, carnivore diets, etc to help their body adapt to burning fat. As an additive to the morning coffee, smoothie, or just directly, it gives the precursors to creating ketones which are the key fuel in healthy body. This particular MCT oil claims 100% c8/c10 which is the size of the carbon chain. That’s important because other mct oils can contain some large chain molecules which don’t contribute to the quick absorption, but need to be digested through the normal gastro -intestinal processes. Non- GMO is also good, (although I haven’t heard of a GMO coconut tree!) never the less, Its something people should care about. I haven’t used it on salads, but I guess that is another way of getting it into your system. I have tried multiple brands and this is no better/worse than the others, so cost effectiveness is a key consideration, and this one seems high on the value list.

It’s been quite awhile since I had Bulletproof coffee and I always used to make it with unsalted butter and coconut oil.I like it that way but I wanted some extra benefits and I believe MCT oil gives me that.I’ve been experimenting with mushroom coffee and a dandelion/chicory blend and adding both this MCT oil and a scoop of collagen powder. It makes my hot drink creamier without adding any taste. I always use my personal blender for this because I like adding bubbles to make it creamy and a little frothy (from the collagen powder). The only issue I have is with the lid. I’m not sure if I broke it or not but the flip cap snaps all the way off. It does snap back on again and it doesn’t leak so it does seem to be okay even when I store the bottle on its side.I also made some keto brownies for my son and used MCT oil in place of the a toxic seed oil. I had no idea if this would work for baking or not but the brownies came out perfectly moist and tasty. So you don’t have to limit yourself to just using this in coffee! It is important to me on a keto diet to consume enough fat and I love using this MCT oil to increase the fat content of foods and drinks to help me feel more full. It’s also a good oil for those without a gallbladder (me!) as bile is not required for digestion.I will also add this to my whey protein powder mix as it is low carb and low fat and the added healthy fat will help me feel full longer.Although this is packaged in Canada, coconuts obvious don’t grow in Canada so I would be happier with this product if I knew more about the source. MCT oil can also be made from palm oil so I feel more confident in this oil knowing that yes it is made from coconuts as I see that on the label. However after a bit of research on my own, I do see that “C8” is supposed to be the easiest isolate for your body to convert into ketones with “C10” being the second best. There are two other isolates, C6 and C12 that are less good according to the Bulletproof Coffee website. So the label is accurate when it says “premium” MCT oils as this oil has 62% C8 (the best( and 28% of C10 (second best) oils. Both C8 and C10 are good for energy and I’m looking forward to noticing a shift there. I have only been taking this for a couple of days so I continue to use this and see how it supports both my keto diet and my energy levels.I am also using this for oil pulling since I have some gum inflammation. It’s a good moisturizer for hair and skin too so this one bottle has multiple uses for you to enjoy.

As a household that cycles between the keto diet and taking breaks, I can attest that this oil does fit the keto diet requirements. It’s odourless and flavourless, making it easy to add to your morning beverage, which we’ve been adding to our morning coffee. While it does mix well upfront, if you drink your morning coffee slowly, it starts to separate and leaves an oil slick on top. This means either a greasy feeling on your upper lip or our coffee thermos lid becomes greasy throughout the day.I found that the bottle used to be a little cumbersome; it kind of looks like a club-sized shampoo bottle. It made it difficult to measure the 1 tbsp suggested serving size and not end up with oil sliding down the side, making it greasy to touch. Also, take note of the onboarding serving suggestions for the first few days; they recommend using only a tsp for a few days before going to the full tbsp. It is sufficient to say your body might need some time to adapt to the oil, and it encourages, shall we say, regularness to your bathroom breaks.I’m unsure of the energy/mental properties of this oil. I’ve used the oil daily for a few weeks, then alternated a few days on a few days off to see if there was a notable difference. Personally, I can’t say I see a change in my mental fortitude for the day when I take it or a lack of it on days I don’t.Overall, if you’re on keto and are looking for an MCT oil, this is as good of an option as the next, but the bottle leaves something to be desired, and my partner and I are still out on the mental properties of it after a month.

I followed a ketogenic diet due to illness and several food intolerances for many years and it was challenging to get enough calories in the day. I would have nut butters, oils and butter (and make energy balls – check recipes for them online) to get enough.I didn’t know about this type of oil then, wish I had. It’s odourless and tasteless and can easily be taken by the spoonful or added to meals like salad, smoothies, oatmeal, etc. From webMD:“ MCT molecules are smaller than those in most of the fats you eat (long-chain triglycerides [LCT]). This makes them easier to digest. You can absorb MCT in your bloodstream quickly. This turns it into energy you can use. MCT can help your body make ketones, an energy source for your brain that doesn’t have carbs. Some say drinking it will make your mind sharper. But if you don’t have a cognitive disorder, you aren’t likely to get a long-lasting brain boost just by adding some MCT oil.”I haven’t been taking it long enough to comment on the effects but I plan on taking it regularly to see.36$ for 1L should last you a while.Other MCT oils seem similarly priced. If you want organic you need to spend a little more. Hope this helps.

I’m not sure why the review algorithm asked me to rate this MCT oil for “moisturizing”, as it’s marketed as a nutritional supplement rather than for skin care. I have not tested it for skin care hehe :)As far as I can tell, this seems to be a perfectly good, very large bottle of MCT oil. I use it to mix in with my coffee and there is no discernible taste. I can’t say for sure if I’ve had an energy boost due to using this product, or if I’m just looking after myself a bit better lately, but at least I can definitely say there have been no negative effects.I have to trust the packagers and their honesty regarding the contents, the purity of the product. I have no way of telling if it’s actually MCT oil or some counterfeit oil. But on the assumption that it is what it says it is, it seems to be a decent price for the amount you get!

Bought this size because it was cheaper then buying the half liter size. Use to make bullet proof coffee or take it straight , seems to help with foggy brain issues as well. Better then butter in coffee imo, Very clean high quality oil. Put a table spoon in hot black coffee ,stir and enjoy.

This is a great MCT oil.Not big on keto coffee so I either just eat a teaspoon/tablespoon or use it in a salad dressing.I did start with a teaspoon and worked my way up to a tablespoon a week later.I did notice an improvement in my focus and energy. It comes in a 1ltr bottle so i decant some into a small oil bottle from an oil and vinagar set.And you cant beat the price.
