PROS:Versatile and can be used as a milk substituteMixes well compared to other powdered milk alternativesLong shelf lifeUnsweetened, vegan, dairy-free, and non-GMOCONS:Price is higher compared to carton oat milkTaste not as good as carton oat milkClumping may occur when mixing with a spoon—— Full Review ——Sunyeah Oat Milk Instant Powder is a reasonable powdered milk alternative. It mixes well compared to most other powdered milk options and is versatile enough to be used in various applications where regular 2% milk would typically be used. The flavor is acceptable but not as enjoyable as store-bought liquid oat milk. One of the main benefits of this product is its long shelf life, making it a convenient option to have in your pantry when you run out of carton oat milk or during times when normal life is disrupted. The product is also unsweetened, vegan, dairy-free, and non-GMO, making it suitable for various dietary preferences. However, there are some drawbacks to consider. The price is higher compared to carton oat milk, which might deter some from purchasing it more frequently. Additionally, the taste is not as satisfying as carton oat milk, and clumping may occur when mixing with a spoon, possibly due to the tapioca starch and tapioca fiber ingredients.Overall, Sunyeah Oat Milk Instant Powder is a good choice for those seeking a long-lasting and versatile powdered milk alternative. While the taste and price may not be as appealing as carton oat milk, its convenience and suitability for various dietary preferences make it a worthwhile purchase.

I really like this concept, it is much more eco-friendly than the usual liquid containers ones. If course, you need to mix it yourself but I see it as perfect because you use only what you need so no wasting here.Price wise, if you calculate how many liters this gives you vs the price of regular 2L at grocery store, this one is cheaper. Taking into account the waste, you win juste right there .The taste is good, I like to use it for my muffins and cakes recipes. When mixing it, I’m left with just a little bit at the bottom of my cup. Totally expected from a powder to be mixed. I think if I would mix in warmer water, there wouldn’t be any residue.

  3. Richie Rich

The Sunyeah Oat Milk Powder is not only a good substitute for a cream or milk for coffee or tea, but a better alternative to the oat milk beverage you have to refrigerate. My wife has completely switched out dairy in her lattes for oat milk, but doesn’t drink as much coffee as I do so the oat milk powder is ideal. You use 1 tablespoon (15g) for about a cup (200mL) of coffee or latte. The oat milk powder isn’t as creamy or rich as using cream, but neither is the oat milk beverage. The taste is good with a subtle nutty flavour. I prefer this powder over the Silk brand of oat beverage and while I still do like cream in my coffee, I can appreciate the taste of oat in a coffee or latte. Only downside of this oat milk powder is the high price, especially considering oat milk in the 1L container is inexpensive.

  4. The Westleys

I won’t lie. I was sure I was going to hate this, and instead, it really won me over.In my defence, powdered versions of stuff like oat milk have been pretty bad in the past, and it took me a long time just to find a regular type of oat milk that I really loved. But when I mixed this powder up with some water (use a blender or shaker cup, do not just stir, the lumps will be bad) and took a sip I was pretty impressed with what I got. It tastes exactly like a B+ oat milk, not quite good enough to be A+ but still pretty good. The consistency is a bit too runny, and it does have a somewhat strong taste to it that I used to get from some oat milk brands I would drink, but it’s definitely not bad. Here’s the trade-off you need to make. This oat milk powder is not as good as really amazing oat milk from a carton, but it is much cheaper, it can stay good for ages (this powder expires in 2025, 2 years after I got it), and if you only use a little oat milk at a time then this is obviously a MUCH better choice for you. If you have the money to buy more expensive oat milk and if you go through oat milk very quickly in your household, then this probably isn’t worth the trade. But most people I know would struggle to use a 1L carton of oat milk before it expires, especially if they mainly use it in their cooking or their coffee, so for those kinds of people this product is an obvious slam-dunk. As a bonus, if you are camping or travelling and don’t have a fridge, this powder can be used anywhere in the world, just add water, so it’s super portable as well!

  5. Sewist and the Geek

I am trying to get out of the milk habit. It is not easy as our 4 year old loves milk and gives me a very disappointed look whenever I tell him the options do not include cows milk. The point is to reduce at this time, so I do have cows milk on hand but use alternatives in smoothies and baking while the hubs uses alternatives for coffee.I usually buy what is on sale, oatmilk, cashew milk, etc. Oatmilk is by far the preferred alternative. This powder is pretty good and very convenient as I oatmilk can get slick and sticky over time, making just what I need or adding it dry to wet ingredients is awesome. I don’t ever expect powdered milks to be as good as prepared milks. It just isn’t the same. But that is fine, as long as you keep your expectations in check.I mostly used this powdered oatmilk in baking and in a few smoothies. One of my favorite things to make is bread. I have a few recipes that call for powdered cows milk, and I substituted this oatmilk powder in its place without issue. In smoothies, the powder blended away and left no texture issues or odd taste. YAY!I like that this oatmilk is not sweetened nor flavored. This means it can be used in both sweet and savory dishes.I do find this to be a little pricey, as it is not certified organic (though it may be organic without certification), but as it is not sweetened, unflavored and useful, I would still purchase this oatmilk powder again.

  6. Nature lover

While this Oat Milk Instant Powder – Unsweetened Original, Vegan, Dairy Free, Shelf-Stable Powder, No Refrigeration Required, No Sugar Added, No GMO, Hydrolyzed Oat Milk Powder – is Oat milk powder, I am not pleased with Tapioca ingredient as 2nd on the list!It is indeed unsweetened, which is great. And can be used in baking, oatmeal to give volume/substance, use instead of dairy for smoothies, recipes etc.I also do not understand the high cost for under 500gm. On the flip side, the shelf life is much more than actual oat milk.

  7. RichardRichard

This is my first time trying Instant Oat Milk. I tend to have regular milk but occasionally would partake in soy, almond, cashew, and oat milk. Generally these alternatives would be from Silk. This Oat Milk Instant Powder isn’t bad but I do feel it’s not as good as their cartoon alternatives.Pricewise were looking at 454grams of powder, 15grams mixes with 200mls of water, giving you a bit over 6L of oat milk. Were looking at about $6.33/L. Your typical cartoon of oat milk is about $3/L. So it’s a bit pricy in comparison. If this was a closer comparison maybe I would purchase it more often. In terms of convenience, instant oat milk wins. It’s got quite a long shelf life. My bag labels 2025, which is about 2 years. You can easily mix it when you need it compared to having to consume a whole cartoon of normal oat milk or often making a trip to the grocery store to pick it up.In terms of taste, I do prefer the cartoon oat milk more. If we look at the ingredients, it’s a bit weird to see tapioca starch and tapioca fiber as the 2nd and 3rd ingredients. I feel they are to help thicken the milk a bit or as fillers, but I’m not certain. What do notice though is when you mix this powder into water with a spoon, you will end up with some of the powder clumping. I can only assume the tapioca starch is partially responsible for this. The drink itself is taste fine and isn’t that flavorful but it’s good that there is no sugar added. There is a noticeable taste of coconut in it probably to bring out the oat/nuttiness’ to the flavor. It’s not bad, but I do feel your typical cartooned oat milk is better. For convenience, Sunyeah instant oat milk powder can be a good choice in your pantry as an alternative when you run out of cartooned oat milk for it’s long shelf life.

  8. Another Bored Consumer

Unfortunately, selection of milk alternatives in my region is expensive and limited. I am happy I no longer need to hawk over weekly flyers to ‘load up’ on heavy oat milk containers. This powder is great, I wanted a milk alternative, for coffee every day. I don’t need a lot, so one teaspoon is enough for me. It mixes well, which I was afraid of clumping, though I did require a bit of stirring. I don’t mind the taste, as it is an acquired taste in my family too. Of all the milk substitutes, oat has always been the most acceptable ones. This powder is almost tasteless, and there is that expected ‘oat milk’ slight aftertaste. However, with any flavoured (cocoa, vanilla, etc.) addon syrup or mix, it hides the oat-iness of the beverage.

  9. MeMe

I love oat milk (already prepared) so I was excited for this powdered version.Honestly, it is delicious when incorporating in the baking, but not so much at any other uses.I also find this very expensive, although I do get it as a 2l of prepared oat milk is $5.99, so in this way, it is reasonably priced, but I can drink it, I can only eat it.
