I followed a ketogenic diet due to illness and several food intolerances for many years and it was challenging to get enough calories in the day. I would have nut butters, oils and butter (and make energy balls – check recipes for them online) to get enough.I didn’t know about this type of oil then, wish I had. It’s odourless and tasteless and can easily be taken by the spoonful or added to meals like salad, smoothies, oatmeal, etc. From webMD:“ MCT molecules are smaller than those in most of the fats you eat (long-chain triglycerides [LCT]). This makes them easier to digest. You can absorb MCT in your bloodstream quickly. This turns it into energy you can use. MCT can help your body make ketones, an energy source for your brain that doesn’t have carbs. Some say drinking it will make your mind sharper. But if you don’t have a cognitive disorder, you aren’t likely to get a long-lasting brain boost just by adding some MCT oil.”I haven’t been taking it long enough to comment on the effects but I plan on taking it regularly to see.36$ for 1L should last you a while.Other MCT oils seem similarly priced. If you want organic you need to spend a little more. Hope this helps.

Great alternative to having to eat spoons of coconut oil. I’m using this MCT oil for getting extra energy.Bottle is pretty big, so in terms of value I think its worth the price. It has no flavor and smell to me at all, which is perfectly fine and I prefer it this way.No bad side effects or after taste. It is just a clear liquid and you only need 1 teaspoon and can take it multiple times a day but with food.Great for active people that need more energy and can help if you’re trying to get into/stay in a state of ketosis.

This product is odorless and tasteless, making it seamless to incorporate into my coffee without altering its flavor. The texture of the MCT Oil is like watered-down oil. However, it blends well in the coffee, leaving no clumps or oil slicks floating on the surface. The main reason I started taking MCT Oil was to experience the touted energy boost, and I must say, it delivers on that front. I do feel a slight increase in energy levels after taking it with my coffee, and I don’t experience any jitters or anxiety as I have with some other energy-boosting supplements. I have not experienced any upset stomach or other negative side effects like burps, poops, or aftertaste. As for other potential benefits of MCT Oil, I haven’t been using it long enough to notice significant changes beyond the energy boost. The one downside I’ve encountered with this product is the nozzle design. When pouring the oil into my coffee mug, it tends to drip down the side, making a mess on the counter.

MCT oil is getting very popular for those starting ketogenic diets, carnivore diets, etc to help their body adapt to burning fat. As an additive to the morning coffee, smoothie, or just directly, it gives the precursors to creating ketones which are the key fuel in healthy body. This particular MCT oil claims 100% c8/c10 which is the size of the carbon chain. That’s important because other mct oils can contain some large chain molecules which don’t contribute to the quick absorption, but need to be digested through the normal gastro -intestinal processes. Non- GMO is also good, (although I haven’t heard of a GMO coconut tree!) never the less, Its something people should care about. I haven’t used it on salads, but I guess that is another way of getting it into your system. I have tried multiple brands and this is no better/worse than the others, so cost effectiveness is a key consideration, and this one seems high on the value list.

It’s been quite awhile since I had Bulletproof coffee and I always used to make it with unsalted butter and coconut oil.I like it that way but I wanted some extra benefits and I believe MCT oil gives me that.I’ve been experimenting with mushroom coffee and a dandelion/chicory blend and adding both this MCT oil and a scoop of collagen powder. It makes my hot drink creamier without adding any taste. I always use my personal blender for this because I like adding bubbles to make it creamy and a little frothy (from the collagen powder). The only issue I have is with the lid. I’m not sure if I broke it or not but the flip cap snaps all the way off. It does snap back on again and it doesn’t leak so it does seem to be okay even when I store the bottle on its side.I also made some keto brownies for my son and used MCT oil in place of the a toxic seed oil. I had no idea if this would work for baking or not but the brownies came out perfectly moist and tasty. So you don’t have to limit yourself to just using this in coffee! It is important to me on a keto diet to consume enough fat and I love using this MCT oil to increase the fat content of foods and drinks to help me feel more full. It’s also a good oil for those without a gallbladder (me!) as bile is not required for digestion.I will also add this to my whey protein powder mix as it is low carb and low fat and the added healthy fat will help me feel full longer.Although this is packaged in Canada, coconuts obvious don’t grow in Canada so I would be happier with this product if I knew more about the source. MCT oil can also be made from palm oil so I feel more confident in this oil knowing that yes it is made from coconuts as I see that on the label. However after a bit of research on my own, I do see that “C8” is supposed to be the easiest isolate for your body to convert into ketones with “C10” being the second best. There are two other isolates, C6 and C12 that are less good according to the Bulletproof Coffee website. So the label is accurate when it says “premium” MCT oils as this oil has 62% C8 (the best( and 28% of C10 (second best) oils. Both C8 and C10 are good for energy and I’m looking forward to noticing a shift there. I have only been taking this for a couple of days so I continue to use this and see how it supports both my keto diet and my energy levels.I am also using this for oil pulling since I have some gum inflammation. It’s a good moisturizer for hair and skin too so this one bottle has multiple uses for you to enjoy.

I’m been keto for a 2-3 months now and using MCT oil regularly. I’ve tried a few brands and this one seems pretty good, and is good value for the quantity. The oil is quite light bodied and I haven’t really noticed a smell or taste at all. I’ve used it in coffee and apart from imparting a slightly oily texture you really wouldn’t know it’s there. If you blend your coffee in a blender, you barely notice it at all, though it still gives your lips a nice glossy feel as you drink the coffee. The bottle it’s packaged in isn’t doing the product any favours. Not that the look of the bottle really matters, but I do find the flip top to be a bit messy and “gluggy” and needs to be wiped down now and then. I find it easier just to unscrew the thing and pour it out. But that’s a minor nitpick really. For those new to MCT oil and don’t know any better: you’d be well advised to start small. Do a teaspoon the first day, allow your body to get used to it, then gradually ramp up to 1 or maybe even 2 tbsp per day over the course of a week or two. Even if used to it, they say to only do 1 tbsp or so at a time. Too much of this stuff at once can lead to “sudden digestive distress”. That’s a pretty packed statement and there’s lots of room for interpretation – but regardless of how you read into it, you probably don’t want that, especially if you’re out and about.

MCT oil is produced from coconut oil, but unlike coconut oil this one does not solidify at room temperature. They counted on it when they packed it in a bottle rather than a jar, and as much as I like the small opening at the top of the bottle I cannot help but feel like it’s going to break soon (it has not , so far)This goes lovely for skin care (although careful, it can be clogging your pores if your skin is prone to this) nail care and most of all hair care, as it is so easy to easily distribute some on the dry tips.In diet it is super useful for keto, for bulletproof coffee, and also it can easily be added to salads and such because it is so devoid of its original flavour.I really like it and I think this is a good value as the bottle is so large (1 Litre) and it’s really going to last a long time.I think anyone should have a bottle of this in the house, a little bit adds a lot of nutritional value to so many things! I could not find any contraindications so I do serve a bit to my kids too, mixed into salads and others meals. Recommended!

As is the challenge with most other liquid MCT oil products, it’s almost impossible to mix this stuff in without a blender. That said, it truly is unflavored, and won’t throw off the flavor of anything you might put it in. I’ve been adding some to my coffee, and on off days where I either forget or don’t have a coffee right away, I’ll throw some in a smoothie or add a bit to my protein shakes. You can put it in pretty much whatever you want and you’ll get the intended benefit – just don’t try cooking with it, it doesn’t quite work the same way as cooking oil (can’t say I’ve tried, but I know people who have, and heard some stories). One other note as well, if you use a thermos or insulated tumbler cup with a lid, make sure you read the instructions for it because some of them recommend not using MCT oil in the cup because it can mess with the rubber on the lid and you’ll end up with a leaky mug.All in all this stuff is great!
