I like it because you don’t test the oil

I’m not sure why the review algorithm asked me to rate this MCT oil for “moisturizing”, as it’s marketed as a nutritional supplement rather than for skin care. I have not tested it for skin care hehe :)As far as I can tell, this seems to be a perfectly good, very large bottle of MCT oil. I use it to mix in with my coffee and there is no discernible taste. I can’t say for sure if I’ve had an energy boost due to using this product, or if I’m just looking after myself a bit better lately, but at least I can definitely say there have been no negative effects.I have to trust the packagers and their honesty regarding the contents, the purity of the product. I have no way of telling if it’s actually MCT oil or some counterfeit oil. But on the assumption that it is what it says it is, it seems to be a decent price for the amount you get!

I have been using the straight C8 version of this company’s MCT oil for the last 78 weeks and have nothing bad to say about the oil itself. The container for this version with C10 also says nothing about where the coconut oil is sourced, just that it is packaged in Canada, Saskatoon. Sure, the packaging will be quality controlled, but where does the oil originate? What kind of quality control is there in the country of origin?Having a version of this with both C8 and C10 MCT is new to us, and I will follow up if there is anything significant to say about it one way or the other.I’ve been using MCT oil, from various suppliers, for the last couple of years and have experienced the benefits, so I was willing to give this a try. The simple fact is that as a person ages, certain things like memory are affected, and by using some products and eliminating others like sugar, these deteriorating effects can be slowed or reduced and possibly, depending on personal physiology, stopped. Using MCT along with certain nootropics, I have seen a reduction of certain age-related issues, especially deterioration of memory and cognitive abilities. Getting the MCT oil into the gut before anything else does have a definite benefit.Anyone looking at MCT as an addition to their daily regimen would be well advised to do some online research and talk with a holistic practitioner to determine what’s best for them and test for how much they should be using.Like other offerings, this has no taste. Using it in coffee or whatnot works well.👀 The fact that the website has the option for a language change to Chinese leads me to think that China may be the source of the oil or this is a Chinese-owned company operating out of Saskatoon. This alone is worrisome as I personally have experienced some not-so-great quality when it comes to food products from China. That said, so far in the weeks we’ve been using the C8 oil, there have been no bad experiences. The label advises new users to start with one dose per day, one teaspoon, and then if there are no tummy troubles, increase slowly up to three doses per day. This is good advice as not everyone reacts favourably, and hitting it hard can increase white throne time for some people. The only negative thing I can mention right now is that, like the C8 oil, the top that’s used to pour out the oil is garbage. There always ends up a lot of oil running down the side, a real waste. What they need is to put a pump on these bottles so that the oil can be dispensed with no waste. So even though the company leaves me suspect, I will use the oil, and if anything negative comes up, I will edit this review.

As a household that cycles between the keto diet and taking breaks, I can attest that this oil does fit the keto diet requirements. It’s odourless and flavourless, making it easy to add to your morning beverage, which we’ve been adding to our morning coffee. While it does mix well upfront, if you drink your morning coffee slowly, it starts to separate and leaves an oil slick on top. This means either a greasy feeling on your upper lip or our coffee thermos lid becomes greasy throughout the day.I found that the bottle used to be a little cumbersome; it kind of looks like a club-sized shampoo bottle. It made it difficult to measure the 1 tbsp suggested serving size and not end up with oil sliding down the side, making it greasy to touch. Also, take note of the onboarding serving suggestions for the first few days; they recommend using only a tsp for a few days before going to the full tbsp. It is sufficient to say your body might need some time to adapt to the oil, and it encourages, shall we say, regularness to your bathroom breaks.I’m unsure of the energy/mental properties of this oil. I’ve used the oil daily for a few weeks, then alternated a few days on a few days off to see if there was a notable difference. Personally, I can’t say I see a change in my mental fortitude for the day when I take it or a lack of it on days I don’t.Overall, if you’re on keto and are looking for an MCT oil, this is as good of an option as the next, but the bottle leaves something to be desired, and my partner and I are still out on the mental properties of it after a month.
